The man that ended the emperial system in China has a big monument in Taipei, Taiwan. You can visit it by traveling the Metro to MRT station Taipei City Hall or Sun Yet-Sen Memorial.

Made in Taiwan Shoes: Zobr, Hoofer, Dr. Kao

While in Taiwan, we discovered Made in Taiwan shoes and found them to be the perfect mix of comfy, professional nerdy, and a little bit of quirky cool for work. Some of the brands we tried on and bought were Zobr, Hoofer and Dr. Kao. These are the three female shoes we purchased (all for work): Dark blue pair = hoofer brand; Turquoise pair = Zobr brand; Brown pair = hoofer brand. I love the vibrant turquoise color of the main portion of these and the juxtaposition of the military (?) or forest (?) green trim on the bottom of the shoes. The only bummer for the Made in Taiwan shoes I've come across in Taipei is that they max out at size European 40. I feel some of these are a little snug at that size for me, so if there had been an option to try a larger size, I may have found a slightly better fit for these shoes. Quirky Wanderlust: The Unexpected Cuteness & Coziness that is Oma Ursel's German Bakery, Taipei, Taiwan

Oh the cuteness! We came across this unexpected surprise of a German bakery and restaurant strolling around the Yongkang area after exiting the metro / MRT Dongmen station. It is situated close to the CNN approved shaved ice place, Smoothie House. << Here is the scoop from we dined at Oma's place days after discovering it: Eating at Oma Ursel's German Restaurant.> > Check out the façade of the building - don't you feel transported to a quaint village in Germany, all the whilst in the hustle and bustle of Taipei? Quirky Wanderlust: Mr. Brown Cafe in Tamsui, Taiwan

We ventured a bit out of Taipei today! During our visit to the end of the red line metro / MRT spot of Tamsui (a city also known as Danshui), it was raining quite a bit, so after a delicious and fast lunch at Yeh's Wonton Restaurant, we walked around, perusing some adorable shops before deciding to settle down at Mr. Brown Café for some time. It seemed like it would be a cozy spot for a fikapaus / taking time out to enjoy coffee, rest, and company. Right away we learned of a buy own drink and get another free deal that is running all of July. Naturally we selected two drinks. And Viking Bear advised to also order a truffle cake as well. It was raining after all and our goal was to linger. We got two hot Mr. Brown cafe lattes. Loved the heart foam on top! And we loved the view!
